A brief look through the differences between laminated and toughened glass…
Both are types of safety glass that have added features for safety and security though there are differences in how they are manufactured.
Laminated glass is actually two layers of thin glass separated by an interlayer made of vinyl material and when it is hit by a hard object with force, it breaks, however the two layers of glass are held together by the interlayer.
Toughened glass, also called tempered glass, is manufactured by introducing heat treatments that create stress which causes the glass to shatter into small cubes rather than into shards.
Laminated glass has many other advantages such as the reduction of sound, filtering of UV rays, etc.
